The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) offers a wide range of subjects for students in Secondary (10th Standard) and Senior Secondary (12th Standard) courses.

NIOS provides flexible learning opportunities for students who want to continue their education through an open schooling system.

Certification Rules to Remember

NIOS Senior Secondary (12th) Certification Rules

Subject Requirements

  • Total: 5 Subjects
  • 1-2 Languages from Group-A
  • Remaining 3-4 from Groups B, C, D, E, F
  • Only 1 subject max per Group C/D/E/F

Pass Criteria (Per Subject)

  • Minimum 33% in aggregate
  • 33% separately in theory & practicals (Public Exam)
  • Internal Assessment marks are shown separately on the marksheet

Certification Criteria

  • Pass all 5 subjects
  • Include 1-2 languages from Group-A
  • vocational subject mandatory
